Streaming Media West - Internet Streaming for Audio and Video

Visiting the Streaming Media West Expo, we are keeping up with the newest developments in the market of streaming Video and Audio.  We made some interesting contacts that will help to improve the service for our customers even more.  At the booth of "The Zurich Network" we also met someone we know very well from several meetings, the Consul General of Switzerland at the time, Franz Hunkeler.

Music, Gourmet buffet and an “Oscar” for everyone

Everybody was a star at the Oscar Gala at Schatzi’s – More than 500 guests enjoyed the gourmet buffet and the Oscars

Deputy Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Josef Beck, the artist Iwona Libuda, Gudrun Beck, Dennis F. Fredricks and Alexander (left to right)More than 500 guests celebrated the 74th Academy Awards on March 24th at Schatzi on Main, the fashionable Santa Monica eatery made famous by its founder Arnold Schwarzenegger. Schatzi’s played host to producers, actors, directors and diplomats on Hollywood’s most festive night, savoring chef Helmut’s gourmet creations at the annual party sponsored by the Film Artists Network, a worldwide independent Filmmakers cooperative, by Showbiz Expo and CineWomen.

Eight big screens brought the Kodak Theater to the seaside restaurant, and live music with Arthur Douglas Jazz Trio provided dancing and added atmosphere as TV camera crews and print journalists from Los Angeles and other nations recorded the action on the red carpet in front of Schatzi as well as inside through the course of the evening.

It was a big evening for Los Angeles’ German speaking community as well.  Held at the Austrian-born Terminator’s venue, operated by fellow Graz-ers Maria and Charly Temmel, it was chaired by Chris Pilliczar with co-chairman support from attorney Dennis F. Fredricks with media coordination done by AHA Media’s chief Alexander.  Lehar Liquor, a specialty from Vienna made its West Coast debut as co-sponsor of the party. Deputy German Consul General Josef Beck was interviewed on the subject of the Hollywood-German partnership.

For the Film Artist Network, the party was a resounding success, and everyone took home a statuette on the occasion of Hollywood’s big night in 2002. F.A.N. Vice Chairman Chris Pilliczar said the Schatzi’s party is becoming a classic, and looks forward to next year for the 75th Academy Awards.
